There are different
perspectives of how technology changed people’s lives. For the poor people,
nothing was old-fashioned anymore and everything was manufactured. Small
businesses were slowly shutting down, there was a demand for jobs and families
were spread apart. It was unfair for the poor because with the new inventions,
they stooped even lower and being able to afford a life with their job was
nearly impossible. On the other hand, the wealthy and the scientists were
taking advantage of their simple lives so they started experimenting even more
for further knowledge. With all the new and improved machines, the wealthy forgot about the poor who were left to fend for themselves during the development of technology.
People were trying to find ways to get jobs. A lot of people moved to the city desperately in search for an occupation such as, work in factories or coal miners. Children were a big part of earning money as well. They were put to work when schools were closed, to help out. Heavy chains would be tied around their slim waists so that they could pull coal for the steam engines. There were rural farmers and urban industry workers all earning money. This new technology didn’t benefit everyone.
