All the TV ads we watch are all of women being shown housekeepers, cooks or toys. When I say "toys" I mean that women are displaying their bodies. Media makes you look at women differently. Sometimes men would look at women for their bodies. Women continually get judged for that. Some males would only look at a female if she was showing her body. This is wrong. Women not only get get judged for their bodies, but for their gender. People stereotype women as not being able to do what men do. For instance, people say that women cannot play sports, because it is too rough. People say that girls cannot play, for example, football because it too harsh. Girls are stereotyped as only caring about their hair, nails, and clothes. Yes, some girls care about that, but not all. Believe it or not, a lot of girls would rather play football in the mud than go out for a manicure pedicure. In fact, some of the famous athletes are women. Some examples are: Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Alex Morgan, Danica Patrick, Ronda Rousey, and Hope Solo. But some people wouldn't know these names because the media doesn't show them. The media shows what they think should be shown of women. Examples of that are: Kendall Jenner, Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum, Kate Upton, Chrissy Teigen and Megan Fox. More people would know Gisele Bundchen and Megan Fox than Alex Morgan and Hope Solo. This is because that's what the media shows. The media doesn't show, for instance, Hope Solo winning MVP. They show Gisele Bundchen on the Victoria's Secret runway. A lot has changed for women but not enough. We need to stop objectifying women. and treat both genders equally.
